2/25/2017 0 Comments First Trip to Disneyland! To celebrate my nephew's first year in High School we took a trip to the happiest place on earth! Our little guy was just shy of 6-months old and we had so much fun completing his first coast-to-coast Disney experience! He was such a happy little traveler and his sense of adventure really came shining through on this trip! We had a late flight out this time and we were very excited to be staying at the Grand Californian hotel this time as a DVC guest. We couldn't believe the view from our room when we arrived. We stayed up well past the midnight hour in awe of our view into the park! We felt like we were VIPs with an all access pass to the park after closing! The next morning we decided to venture into Hollywood for some non-disney, but still very magical adventures! The drive into Hollywood was stressful with a little one, but we made it and Wally got to meet his favorite monkey first thing through the gate! We had a lot of fun hanging out in Hogwarts and my Mom and I rode a few rides with Walter, but there is definitely not as much to do at Universal Studios with an infant as there is in a Disney park. The next day a wind and rain storm swept through Southern California! My Mom opted to stay in the room with Wally so that we could have a fun adventure in the rain without having to worry about keeping him dry. We put on our ponchos and made the best of a rainy day in Disney! We managed to make it on to the Radiator Springs Racers before it was shut down for inclement weather then we made our way to a little tropical paradise hideaway at Trader Sams to dry off before taking in a movie in Downtown Disney. The boys enjoyed a rainy day afternoon nap after the movie and Mark and I had the opportunity to go on a romantic Disney date for dinner at The Napa Rose followed by a quick trip around the world! Enjoying a rainy day in Disneyland and taking time to do some activities we normally wouldn't slow down enough to consider was such a treat! The next day the sun was out and we were ready to dig in to a full day of fun in Disneyland! Wally loved meeting Tigger, Chewbacca and seeing his first Disneyland parade. Disneyland is a great park for an infant and a teen to have fun! My nephew had a blast riding all the coasters with my husband and we had a great time with Wally strolling through the park, doing character meet-and-greets, and going on all the kid friendly rides. President's day weekend was a great time to visit. Crowd levels were not terrible and the weather was beautiful! Our final day was spent in California Adventure park. We enjoyed a cloudy and cool day in the parks. Wally had a blast at the Disney Junior Live on Stage show and managed to fall sound asleep after the first 5 minutes of the show. He was Disney dreaming hard so we decided it was the perfect time to swing by the Cove Bar for a drink and some Lobster Nachos while he took a snooze. We enjoyed the rest of the afternoon doing all the "big kid rides" with my nephew and taking Wally on Heimlich's Chew Chew Train, The Little Mermaid and Monsters, Inc. There are definitely not as many rides and attractions that are infant friendly in the DCA park, but we enjoyed a leisurely day and my nephew had a blast riding all the larger attractions over and over again! We ended our time in the park with a meet-and-greet with Mickey Mouse, but Wally wasn't to excited about the encounter! Character meet-and-greets are always a little hit or miss when you have an infant! We ended the day relaxing in front of the fireplace in the lobby of the Grand Californian while I nursed Wally. It was such a relaxing and cozy moment, I remember wishing it would never end!
